Wild Timor Coffee Presents: Cameron’s Coffee Routine

Wild Timor Coffee Director Cameron Wheelehen

People are creatures of habit.

Coffee is a key component that many of us arrange our lifestyles around. Wild Timor Coffee director Cameron Wheelehen is no exception.

Coffee thoughts start kicking in pretty early for Wheels. “Usually after I’ve been to the bathroom, I’ll start thinking, “Time for some coffee, I reckon,” he chortles.

His first brew of the day is consumed at Wild Timor HQ; “as soon as the coffee machine is warmed up- about fifteen minutes.” The format depends on the day ahead.

“If I have a physical morning, stacking and running around, I’ll have a short black. For a sit-down morning, I make it long.”

Cameron admonishes, “I try not to have a coffee first thing. Your brain starts to rely on the caffeine hit after a while.”

While Wild Timor Coffee beans are pretty versatile, Cameron’s tried and true recipe for espresso is 19-21 grams of ground coffee, 25-30 second pour time, for a yield of 60mL.

“I look for the honey-like pour stream and make sure the crema sticks around after.”
